1. Promoter’s details: The promoter is Teachers Mutual Bank Limited ABN 30 087 650 459 AFSL/Australian Credit Licence No 238981, 28-38 Powell Street, Homebush NSW 2140.
2. Promotion: The game of skill competition for tickets for the Bell Shakespeare performance of Romeo & Juliet conducted by the promoter.
3. Competition period: The competition commences at 9am AEDT Monday, 20 October 2025 and closes at 5pm AEDT Friday, 31 October 2025.
4. Eligibility:
(a) Those eligible to enter are Teachers Mutual Bank members.
(b) However, Teachers Mutual Bank Directors, employees and Members Committee members and members of their family (spouse, de facto, parent, grandparent, child, stepchild, grandchild, brother or sister) are not eligible to enter.
(c) Each entrant must provide their Teachers Mutual Bank membership number in the competition entry process to confirm eligibility.
5. Participating in the promotion:
(a) By entering the promotion, each entrant accepts these terms and conditions.
(b) Members must submit their contact details, membership number and answer the question, “Who would be the modern-day Romeo & Juliet and where would they live?”, using the questionnaire on the Teachers Mutual Bank landing page during the competition period.
(c) An entry is made by submitting the required information on the competition link provided.
(d) The participation limit for entries will be one entry per person.
(e) Any entry not in compliance with these terms and conditions is automatically invalid. The promoter reserves the right to accept or reject non-compliant or incomplete entries in its sole discretion.
(f) Each entrant is responsible for any expenses incurred in relation to participating in or winning the promotion. An entrant will not be reimbursed for any cost incurred in the event of winning the promotion other than as expressly set out in these terms and conditions.
6. Judging details: Competition entries will be judged by a panel of Teachers Mutual Bank employees at 10am AEDT Monday, 3 November 2025. The winning entries will be selected based on the most creative and original answers, as deemed by the judging panel. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winners.
7. Winner notification: The prize winners will be notified via phone call and email by 5pm AEDT Tuesday, 4 November 2025.
8. Prize details and redemption:
(a) Eighteen winners will receive two tickets for the Bell Shakespeare performance of Romeo & Juliet.
(b) The total value of the prizes is $124.
(c) The tickets must be redeemed on Wednesday, 26 November 2025 at the 7pm performance. The winners will be invited to attend a catered pre-show function hosted by Teachers Mutual Bank in the Western Foyer of the Sydney Opera House, NSW 2000 at 5.45pm AEDT on Wednesday, 26 November 2025. The tickets will be handed to the winners on Wednesday, 26 November 2025 when they arrive at the pre-show function prior to the performance. Tickets must be presented to gain entry to the performance.
(d) The prizes are not transferable and are not redeemable for cash or other goods or services.
(e) If for any reason any of the prize is not available due to any reason beyond the promoter's control, the promoter shall be at liberty at its discretion to substitute the prize with another similar prize of equivalent monetary value.
9. Unclaimed prizes:
(a) If any prize is not claimed by 5pm AEDT Wednesday 5 November 2025, the judging panel will select new winners for the unclaimed prizes on Thursday, 6 November 2025, using the same criteria as applied for the original selection of winners.
(b) The winner of the re-selection will be notified via phone call and email by 5pm AEDT Thursday 6 November 2025.
10. Winner’s consent for promotion: By entering the competition, each entrant consents to the following if they are a winner:
(a) their photo being taken by the official photographer at the event;
(b) the promoter using their name, their competition entry and photos of them from the event in any media for an unlimited period of time for the purpose of promoting, publicising or marketing this promotion and promoting any products and services by the promoter;
(c) the promoter licensing others to use such photos for those purposes;
(d) the promoter being the exclusive owner in perpetuity of all rights in materials produced using the photos and all rights in those materials; and
(e) if photos are published, that third parties may view the photos without acknowledging the winner.
11. Indemnity and disclaimer: To the extent permitted by law, each entrant releases and indemnifies the promoter and its agents and employees from and against, all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of acceptance of any prize or participation in the competition including (but not limited to) loss of income, personal injury, damage to property and whether direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission or otherwise.
12. Limitation of liability: To the extent permitted by law, the promoter is not responsible or liable:
(a) if for any reason beyond the promoter’s reasonable control, any element of any prize is not provided. The promoter, in its absolute discretion, may then substitute a different prize of equivalent value in place of any prize referred to in these terms and conditions;
(b) if, for any reason, the competition is suspended, varied or terminated at any time, with or without prior warning or publicity;
(c) for late, lost or misdirected entries; or
(d) for any change in the value of a prize occurring between the publishing date and the date the prize is claimed.
13. Rights of the promoter:
The promoter has the right to exclude any person from this competition for any reason whatsoever and to amend these terms and conditions at any time or cancel the competition subject to state regulation.
14. Force majeure:
If the promotion is unable to proceed due to unforeseen circumstances, including cyber-attack, industrial strike, computer virus, fraud, or technical failures, the promoter may take appropriate action with respect to the promotion (including suspension, termination or modification of the promotion) as it deems appropriate, subject to any relevant regulation or law or direction from a regulatory authority.
15. Privacy and personal information:
(a) The promoter will use and will retain for a reasonable period the personal information of each entrant for the following purposes:
(i) to communicate with the entrant regarding the promotion;
(ii) to verify that these terms and conditions have been complied with;
(iii) for accounting purposes.
(b) Any other use of an entrant’s personal information will be in accordance with the promoter’s privacy policy available here and in accordance with all applicable privacy and spam laws.
(c) The promoter will not use personal information of an entrant except in accordance with the purposes stated in this clause.
16. Governing law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales and entrants submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales in respect of any proceedings in connection with these terms and conditions.
