The Scholarship provides a successful applicant with the opportunity to explore modes of collaborative working and to identify opportunities for innovative leadership. Previous recipients 2020 Scholarship Recipient Michael Hooker is the 2020 recipient of the Teachers Mutual Bank Emerging Leaders Scholarship. Michael is the Director of Educational Leadership in the Mount Druitt Principals Network with the New South Wales Department of Education. He plays a key strategic role to ensure that the work of schools is evidence based and is responsive to the data informed needs of all students from preschool to year 12. Michael has recently completed a Professional Certificate in Instructional Leadership at the University of Melbourne, and has contributed to the development and delivery of several system improvement initiatives. 2019 Scholarship Recipient Joanne Jarvis is the 2019 recipient of the Teachers Mutual Bank Emerging Leadership Scholarship. She is the founding Director of The NSW School Leadership Institute and is responsible for the development of high-level leadership skills to support current and future school leaders at key points in their career. Joanne has worked in Education for over 30 years in various roles, having been a secondary school Principal for 14 of those years. She is currently completing a Professional Certificate of Instructional Leadership with the University of Melbourne, has the 'Three Rivers' leadership program, and has a Certificate in Women in Leadership (NESLI) and a Certificate in Leadership Effectiveness (Hay Group). Joanne is passionate about public education and about building the capacity of teachers to assume leadership roles at each stage of their career to develop their potential and expand their influence. Joanne was the standout candidate and a very worthy recipient of the 2019 Teachers Mutual Bank Emerging Leaders Scholarship. 2018 Scholarship Recipient Tim McCallum is the 2018 recipient of the inaugural Teachers Mutual Bank Executive Leadership* Scholarship. He has recently become an Executive Director, School Performance for the Regional North Operational Directorate with the NSW Department of Education. Tim is responsible for 17 Directors Educational leadership in the regional north of NSW across approximately 350 primary and high schools in the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Central Coast, Newcastle and the Hunter. He is a strong advocate for the public education system and for coaching and mentoring. He is a creative and innovative thinker and leader. Tim was the stand out candidate and a very worthy recipient of the inaugural Teachers Mutual Bank Executive Leadership Scholarship. *The Teachers Mutual Bank Emerging Leaders Scholarship is now being offered in place of the Teachers Mutual Bank Executive Leadership Scholarship.
