Teachers Mutual Bank announces change to variable rates

Following the decision by the Reserve Bank of Australia to increase the official cash rate by 0.25% p.a., Teachers Mutual Bank will increase home loan variable interest rates by 0.25% p.a., effective 17 February 2026.

Greg Johnson, Teachers Mutual Bank Limited’s Chief Customer Officer, said: “We know that home loan members may feel additional pressure as a result of these changes. Our Member Assist team is here to work with members who need additional support or tailored solutions to help manage their finances.”

Teachers Mutual Bank will also be increasing its rates on variable savings rate products by 0.25% p.a., effective from 17 February 2026*. 

Teachers Mutual Bank Limited operates Teachers Mutual Bank, Firefighters Mutual Bank, Health Professionals Bank and UniBank.

*For all variable deposit products excluding those products which operate with a monthly bonus interest feature for which the increase will be applied in the following monthly cycle.
