A dynamic partnership built on shared values and deep roots, the NSW Teachers Federation and Teachers Mutual Bank continue to champion educators through a shared mission for fair, teacher-focused financial services.  

Teachers Mutual Bank began in 1966 as the Hornsby Teachers Association Credit Union, created by a group of teachers who wanted a financial institution tailored to their needs. With early support from the NSW Department of Education, the credit union expanded rapidly and was renamed the New South Wales Teachers Credit Union in 1967.

This transformation reflected the growing partnership between the Federation and the credit union. While the NSWTF is a trade union advocating for teachers' rights and working conditions, Teachers Mutual Bank has always focused on providing financial services to educators.
