How does online banking work?

It is important you understand the key changes effective from, 5 November 2017.

What's new? 

  • Menu. Menu design changes makes finding what you want easier
  • BPAY. You’ll now see this in the main menu helping you pay your bills more quickly and easily
  • Self service. We’ve added this to the main menu so you can easily open a new account, activate a card and more

Don't worry, you can still easily transfer funds and view personal payees under Move Money and view your accounts under Account Activity from the main menu.

It’s important we have your correct contact details, you can review and update your details in internet banking by selecting My settings, then update contact details.


Our internet banking gives you access to your accounts via desktop, mobile or tablet, offering a range of convenient features that can streamline your banking. Accessing your accounts online through internet banking allows you to pay and view bills, make payments and manage your accounts securely.

Teachers Mutual Bank SMS and email alerts

You can easily monitor your account activity with our unlimited SMS and email alerts. This way you’ll know when deposits have been made to your account, when your balance has changed or when your payment is due on your credit card or overdraft – you set them up to meet your needs and make your banking easy.

To set up your mobile alerts log into internet banking.

Deposit account alerts

You can nominate to receive an SMS or email alert (or both) when your account exceeds or falls below a nominated amount or when deposits are made to your account.

Future Payment alerts

  • Unsuccessful Future Payment

You can nominate to receive an SMS or email alert (or both) when a nominated Future Payment has been unsuccessful due to insufficient funds in your account. 

Overdraft account alerts

  • Payment reminder
  • Changed limit alert
  • Balance alert

You can nominate to receive an SMS or email alert (or both) when your overdraft is due for payment, when the limit has increased or decreased or when the owing balance exceeds or falls below a nominated amount. 

Teachers Credit Card alerts

You can nominate to receive an SMS or email alert (or both) when your credit card is due for payment, when the limit has increased or decreased or when the owing balance exceeds or falls below a nominated amount. 

Personal loan alerts

You can nominate to receive an SMS or email alert (or both) when the owing balance exceeds a nominated amount or falls below a nominated amount.

Home loan alerts

You can nominate to receive an SMS or email alert (or both) when the owing balance exceeds a nominated amount or falls below a nominated amount.

Teachers Mutual Bank Limited does not charge you for accessing your accounts using your mobile. Internet data charges and call charges may be incurred through your mobile service provider - check with your Internet Service Provider or mobile phone service provider for more details. A 3G or Wi-Fi connection is needed for the mobile banking and map features.
