What is eCommunication?
eCommunication or electronic communication refers to statements, newsletters, marketing, reports, product change information and notices sent to you by online methods including email and SMS.
Who is able to receive eCommunication?
Members can opt in to receive communication electronically, however for online statements members will need to be registered for internet banking so they can view their statements.
How do I opt in to receive communication electronically?
Click the ‘eCommunication’ menu in internet banking or call 13 12 21.
Does this mean that all communication will be received electronically?
Only the communication preferences you have chosen will be sent electronically.
Is there a fee for this service?
No.
If I choose eCommunications, can I change my preferences?
You can update your preferences at any time by clicking the ‘eCommunication’ menu in internet banking or call 13 12 21.
What will I do if I haven’t received any emails from you?
Check your spam folder and inbox limits. You should also remember to update us of any changes to your email address. This can be done in internet banking or call 13 12 21.

How do I identify what emails have been sent by Teachers Mutual Bank?
Emails will be from a tmbank.com.au email address. We will not ask you to update your details in an email or attachments that will take you away from the email.
How do I protect myself from identity fraud?
We will never send an email that asks you to follow a link to update your personal details, contact details or passwords. You should only ever update this information within the security of internet banking or call 13 12 21.

What if I have already provided my email address and mobile number?
We will use this information to ensure our records are correct. If your details have changed please call us.
Why do you need my mobile number?
So we can send you SMS reminders and news.
How do I update my email address and mobile number?
Go to the ‘eCommunication’ menu in internet banking and enter your new details or call 13 12 21.
What if I share an email address with another person?
Emails will be addressed to you. If you would prefer that the other person does not have access to your emails from Teachers Mutual Bank, we suggest you use a different email address. You can set up a free web-based email account of your own through a number of providers that offer this service.

Statements
How do I view my statement?
Select ‘View statements’ from the ‘eCommunication’ menu in internet banking.
Can I view all of my account statements through the one internet banking login number?
If you currently receive a paper statement for each of your member numbers, you may require a separate internet banking login to access online statements. Please call 13 12 21 for more details.
Can I choose which accounts will be displayed on the online statement?
No. Online statements display the same account information as your paper statements and it is a legal requirement to display all accounts.
Can I view my joint account online statements?
You can view your joint account online statement if your joint account is displayed on the paper statements received in your name each month. For further information on your joint account please call 13 12 21.
When will my online statements be available to view?
You will receive an email around the 5th day of the month for normal statements and the 28th day of the month for Teachers Credit Card statements advising that your statement is available to view in internet banking.
How long do statements remain available for viewing in internet banking?
Statements from June 2007 are stored in internet banking for viewing. Statements previous to that date are archived and no longer available for online view; however a paper statement is available on request. Refer to the Fees and charges brochure for details on fees and charges which may apply.
What is the difference between a transaction listing and a statement?
A transaction listing does not contain the required legal disclosures, such as opening and closing balances for the month, interest, and fees incurred.
How secure are online statements?
Online statements are delivered using 128-bit SSL encryption. This is the same level of security that is used for internet banking and our web chat service.
You should check your web browser settings as some may automatically save a copy of your online statement to your desktop or to a temporary file.
What software do I need to view my online statement?
You will require a recent web browser that supports 128-bit SSL encryption and a PDF reader such as Adobe Reader which you can download from adobe.com.au
Am I able to print my statements?
Yes, you will require a PDF reader such as Adobe Reader to open and print your statements, which are in the same format as the paper statements.
Can my online statement information be exported to other programs?
No, online statements are provided in PDF format only. These files can be viewed using any PDF reader software, such as Adobe Reader which is available from adobe.com.au
Transactions can be exported in other formats (CSV, OFX, OFC and QIF). Log in to internet banking, select Transaction History on the Welcome Page, and click Download at the bottom of the Transaction History listing.
If I switch to online statements, can I resume paper statements?
Yes, you can resume paper statements at any time.

What marketing will be emailed to me?
Marketing includes newsletters, reports, new products and services information, offers and competitions. We are committed to ensuring that the number of marketing emails you receive is managed.
How do I obtain previous issues of Chalkboard?
On our website, go to ‘About us’ then ‘Member news’. The last four issues are available here.
Can I request a copy of the Annual Report to be mailed to me?
Yes. Send us an email to enquiry@tmbank.com.au or call 13 12 21.

Product change information
What is Product change information?
Product change information includes changes to your conditions of use, interest rates, fees and charges applicable to products or services that you use. We have outlined in the Conditions of use document specifically when these changes are to take place and how we can notify you. It’s important to ensure your email address and mobile phone number are kept up to date to ensure that you receive this information.
Can I opt out of receiving Product change information?
No. We are legally obliged to notify you of these changes. If you do not choose to receive these electronically we are required to mail them to your postal address.

What are notices?
As a member of Teachers Mutual Bank you have the right to vote for changes to our Constitution and in the election of Board and Committee Members. Notices are sent to members about:
- the Annual General Meeting or any Special General Meetings that are held
- voting on any proposed changes to the Constitution
- voting for Board and Committee Members and
- other items related to the Constitution and board elections
Can I opt out of receiving these notices?
No. We are legally obliged to notify you of these events. If you do not choose to receive these notices electronically we are required to mail them to your postal address.

Environmental support
What is Teachers Environment Fund?
The Teachers Environment Fund is our initiative to assist public schools and TAFEs by providing grants for environmental initiatives. For each member who opts in to receiving all or just some communication by email or SMS, we will donate $1 to this fund capped at $30,000 per year.
