Internet security reminder
29 April 2011
With Internet security becoming a heightened issue in the media recently, we would like to remind our members of some simple measures that can be taken to ensure your personal information remains secure.
Fraudulent (phishing or hoax) emails and telephone calls that appear to be from Teachers Credit Union or other legitimate businesses may attempt to obtain from you personal information such as your Internet or Telephone Banking password, credit card details, Personal Identification Number (PIN), etc.
Do not respond to any requests for this information, even if they appear to have come from us. We will never ask you to disclose your details in this way. You should also always check your account statements for unauthorised transactions.
If you suspect you have received a fraudulent email or telephone call:
• Do not open the email or continue the telephone call;
• Delete the email immediately or terminate the call;
• Do not click on any links or attachments; and
• Do not provide any personal information including PINs or access codes.
For more detailed information about how to ensure your online security is not compromised, please visit our
Online Security page.
If you receive an email or telephone call which you feel may be fraudulent or have any concerns, please contact us on 13 12 21 between 8am and 7pm weekdays, 9am to 3pm Saturdays, or
email us.
