Heritage Building Society to become Heritage Bank Limited

Heritage Building Society Limited is another mutual that is currently planning to move towards becoming a bank. Chairman Mr Brian Carter assured that Heritage would remain to be member-owned and member-focused, despite having a different name. He said “This change is all about ensuring Heritage moves with the times and remains relevant in the modern world”.

Heritage will put the proposed name change at the Annual General Meeting in Toowoomba on 19th October 2011. If the proposal gets approved, it aims to start operating as Heritage Bank later this year.
