Stewart House

Stewart House, located at Curl Curl Sydney, is a hospital, a charity and a school. Every two weeks, 90 public school children from NSW and ACT arrive at Stewart House for a 12 day stay. Each has been personally recommended by their School Principal as being in dire need of a break from their daily life. This may be due to neglect, abuse, isolation, poverty, a recent family bereavement, ill health or family break-up. During the children’s stay at Stewart House they are provided with medical, dental and optometric assessment, treatment and counselling. This is balanced with health and education programs, out-of-school activities to boost their self-esteem and techniques to grow and move towards a more positive future.
